4. Complete Student Handbook and Black Belt Book
5. Find place for Dojo
6. Get Investors, Grants, and Loans for Dojo
7. Triple student enrollment

Requirement: Fulfill (and document) 10 achievements considered "Personal Victories." A Personal Victory may be anything that a participant feels is a noteworthy personal accomplishment.
- Ten Testing Performances
Progress: Still putting together a performance.
Requirement: Participants perform their final physical test performance (demo) in front of ten separate audiences, prior to the final UBBT event.
- Memorize "MASTERY"
Progress: Memorizing (I read it at least once a day)
Requirement: All UBBT candidates must memorize the speech: "MASTERY."
- Push Ups and Sit Ups / Crunches
Progress: Push Ups - 9420 Sit Ups / Crunches - 13488
Requirement: 52,000 (minimum) push-ups and crunches are required by final exam. That’s 150 a day, 1000 a week, each.
- Rounds of Sparing
Progress: 12 Round
Requirement: One thousand (1000) rounds of sparring (stand up and/or ground fighting) are required by final exam time. That is an average of three rounds per day. Rounds must be 2 minutes or longer.
- Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or NHB (No Holds Barred)
Progress: 1 Hour Completed
Requirement: Each participant in the UBBT must complete 150 hours of Jiu-Jitsu mat time (average of three hours per week).
- Kata Requirements
I decided to learn a new Kata and will try to master it
Progress: 116 Repetitions
Requirement: Each UBBT participant will choose one Kata and complete a minimum of 1000 repetitions of it. This Kata will be a part of the final UBBT exam.
- Self Defense Training
Progress: Every Monday for two hours I train in Krav Maga, Target Focus Training, and Marine Corps Martial Arts.
Requirement: Most martial arts are more sport than self defense making this a requirement in the Ultimate Black Belt Test. Because Shinkyu Kenpo is all about self defense and not about sport, this requirement is already full filled. I will intensify my training in the three combat / self defense arts.
- Boxing / Kickboxing Requirements
Progress: 1 Hour Completed
Requirement: Candidates must have a minimum of 20 hours of training with a boxing or Muay Thai boxing coach. If you can’t box, you don’t know how to punch. A black belt in any martial arts who has not studied boxing couldn't hold his or her own against a fighter of equal size with just one-year (or less) of boxing training. The “ultimate” black belt studies the “sweet science” of boxing—or suffers a huge gap in his or her understanding of the art of hand-to-hand combat.
- Seeking Out A Master
Progress: Looking for Yoga master - I haven't chosen one yet
Requirement: Each candidate will be required to seek out one master (of any discipline in or out of the martial arts), conduct and interview and if possible, study with him or her.
- Reading Requirements
Progress: On Book 3
Requirement: Each candidate will be required to read 12 or more books pertaining to management, environmentalism, peace, philosophy, motivation, or “enlightenment.” Members of the UBBT have access to a suggested reading list; however, the candidate, based on his or her interests, may choose the titles. Books read will be tracked in the UBBT`s on-line journals.
- Motivational Course
Progress: Following the "Change Your Thoughts—Change Your Life" By Wayne W. Dyer, Ph.D. He goes thought the 81 classic verses from the ancient Tao Te Ching that combines empowering wisdom with the natural laws of the Universe to offer spiritual truths and essential guidelines to apply to life in today’s world.
I have decided to go with something other than Tony Robbins because I have already gone though two of Tony Robbins courses.
Requirement: Participants must go through the Tony Robbins 30-Day or 7-Day tape series or have equivalent training to the Robbin's educational program.
There is a base of beliefs and attitudes taught in works by authors and speakers such as Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Earl Nightingale, and others, which can serve the martial arts master instructor in many ways. Being familiar with the work of this century’s greatest motivational speakers provides the martial arts teacher with many invaluable resources.
- DONE
Body For Life
Progress: Started 10-1-07
Requirement: Participants must come to the final exam in the best shape of their adult lives. Each candidate, prior to the exam, is required to read and follow Bill Phillip`s diet and training program from his book, Body For Life.
The Body For Life program is a 12 week program of weight training, cardio exercise and diet. I will be doing the Body For Life program for the duration of the test. That is 56 weeks.
- Empathy Training
Progress: Haven't started yet
Requirement: One full day of living in a wheelchair, one full day blind, and one full day mute are required by all candidates.
Why: Empathy for others may be one of the most powerful forms of self-defense. The inspiration for the day in a wheelchair (which lead to the blind and mute days) came from three sources. Manuel Vega, the son in law of legendary martial arts teacher Ralph Castro, had a wheelchair-bound student that he taught for many years. When the student passed away, Vega, in his honor, continued to offer classes for those interested. I was inspired by his story—and by two of my students; Patrick Flannigan and Jay Pak of Reno, NV. Patrick had a bicycle accident, and Jay a car accident, that left them both confined to wheelchairs. In their honor—and for the many millions of people who live without the use of their legs—we spend our own day in a wheelchair.
Personal Acts of Kindness and Compassion
Progress: 36 Acts
Requirement: Each candidate must perform and log 1000 acts of kindness and compassion in his or her UBBT Workbook (or in an on-line Acts of Kindness web site. In addition to this requirement, each candidate must be the catalyst for 50,000 (minimum) acts of courtesy, kindness, and respect from their students and/or community. Candidates may choose to use Tom Callos’ Random Acts of Kindness Program (available through NAPMA) or the first booklet in the Six Tasks Character Development Program (available through MAIA) or a program of their own creation.
Righting Wrongs & Mending Relationships
Progress: One down and working on the second.
Requirement: Candidates are required to right three wrongs they have done in their lives --or mend three broken relationships.
Walk, Run or Bile 1000 Miles
Progress: 492 Miles
Requirement: "The journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step"—Lao Tsu.
Each participant will be required to walk, run (walk/run),for bike a minimum of 1000 miles over the duration of their test.
Name and Profile 10 Living Heroes
This will be kind of hard for me as I have very high standers for what a hero is. I have alwas belived this: "The true measure of a hero, is when a man lays down there life, to save others that will never know."
Progress: 2 Profiled
Requirement: Each UBBT participant must search out and profile 10 living heroes. The 10 heroes may NOT include family members, war heroes, or more than one student.
